The Story of the Chinese Bamboo Tree

The creation of Leads to Grow was inspired in part by the story of the Chinese bamboo tree because it illustrates the importance of patience and persistence, two things that are paramount to sales success. For those of you unfamiliar with the story here it is.

The seeds of the Chinese bamboo tree are planted in the ground where they are watered and fertilized every day for a year. At the end of that first year there is no visible signs of progress so the process of watering and fertilizing is repeated every day for the next three years. At the end of the fourth year the bamboo tree still has not broken through the ground.

Then, sometime during the fifth year the bamboo tree breaks through the soil and over the course of the next six weeks it grows to a height of 90 feet!

Now the question becomes, does the Chinese bamboo tree grow 90 feet in five years or does it grow 90 feet in six weeks?

The answer of course is that the tree grows 90 feet in five years because if you had stopped watering and fertilizing at any point in the growing process the bamboo seeds would have died.

So what's the moral of the story? Be PATIENT, be PERSISTENT, and TRUST THE PROCESS!

At Leads to Grow we adhere to these principles in our daily efforts to manage the front end of your sales process, consistently putting in the effort necessary to grow your pipeline of leads. Along the way you can be assured that our calls will be professional and that our goal for each call will be to leave a positive impression of your organization with each contact we make.
